We are thrilled to shine our SPOTlight on an extraordinary educator who makes a lasting impact every single day: Mrs. Kelly Wright, Linden Elementary’s Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Wright didn't start out in education—she originally planned on a career in accounting because of her love for math and procedures. But during her sophomore year of college, searching for a deeper sense of purpose, a career exploration course led her straight to teaching, and we couldn't be more grateful that it did.
For Mrs. Wright, consistency and connection are key. "I thrive on routine, just like my students," she shares. One of her favorite milestones was watching her very first group of Linden students graduate from high school last year, seeing firsthand the well-rounded, capable individuals they became throughout their time in Hamilton City Schools.
Her dedication is felt deeply by everyone around her. One colleague shared, "I’ve always admired how intentional Kelly is in her classroom. She sets high expectations, stays consistent, and genuinely believes her students are capable of more than they sometimes think they are. She doesn’t need a lot of fluff to make an impact. She just knows what works and does it well. After many years working alongside Kelly, I couldn’t be more proud to see her receive this recognition." Linden administrators echo that praise, noting, "She meets students where they are and truly grows them to their fullest potential—she’s a champion for kids and a leader not only at Linden, but HCSD! There is not a second of downtime in her room. Every moment matters and every minute is filled with instruction and engagement!"
Please join us in showering Mrs. Wright with well-deserved congratulations! Drop a comment below or give her a high five the next time you see her in the halls. Thank you for everything you do for our Leopards, Mrs. Wright!
