THERESA YOUNG

At Linden, our cafeteria staff does so much more than serve delicious meals—they bring smiles, warm hugs, and incredible energy to our students every single day. For this edition of the Linden SPOTlight, we are thrilled to introduce the dedicated team working hard behind the counter to nourishour school community.

Leading the kitchen is our Manager, Lindsey Meyer, whose favorite part of the job is working alongside her wonderful crew and connecting with the students. Lindsey holds a degree in Business Administration and played college volleyball at Shawnee State University. Outside of work, she stays active by coaching and playing volleyball, as well as going for runs.

Running the register with a big smile is Ms. Sheree, who loves socializing with the kids, getting sweet hugs, and hearing a cheerful "have a good day." After a 32-year career with the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Ms. Sheree retired and has spent the last 14 years in food service, with 12 of those right here at Linden. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending quality time with her granddaughters.

Cooking up daily meals is Carol, who loves the kids, the staff, and her fantastic kitchen team. Carol is an Army Veteran who served as an Investigator for the Military Police, and she was born and raised right here in Lindenwald. When she is off the clock, you can find her working out, tending to her yard, or cheering on Alabama Football—Roll Tide!

Greeting students in the lunch line is Karen, who treasures every daily interaction with the children as they come through. When she isn't at school, Karen loves spending time out on the water fishing and boating, as well as heading to the sidelines to cheer on her grandchildren at their sporting events.

Helping prep and serve food is Jessica, who says seeing all the students' smiles and getting to feed the kiddos is the best part of her job. A creative mind, Jessica loves to draw in her free time. Outside of work, her favorite thing to do is spend quality time with her own children and watch them play sports.

Rounding out the team as a general kitchen worker is Nikki, who loves talking and sharing a good joke with the kids. A fun fact about Nikki is that she loves scaring people, especially when Halloween rolls around! Outside of work, she self-identifies as a cozy couch potato who loves watching her favorite movies and making memories with her grandchildren.

A huge thank you to Lindsey, Ms. Sheree, Carol, Karen, Jessica, and Nikki for everything you do to make our cafeteria such a welcoming place!
