THERESA YOUNG

Recently, Trooper O’Neil spent time with our students sharing what it’s like to serve as a state trooper. The visit was both educational and engaging, giving students a firsthand look at the important work troopers do to keep our communities safe.

Trooper O’Neil taught students about the different types of gear and equipment a trooper uses on the job. Students learned that the tools a trooper carries can vary depending on their assignment and which specialized team is dispatched.

Some of the equipment discussed included:

  • Safety and emergency response gear

  • Communication devices used to stay connected with dispatch

  • Protective equipment worn for safety

Students were fascinated to see how each piece of equipment has an important purpose. Trooper O’Neil explained how preparation, teamwork, and training help troopers respond to many different situations — from helping stranded motorists to assisting during emergencies.

Visits like this help students better understand community helpers and the many responsibilities that come with serving others. We are grateful for the partnership with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and for Trooper O’Neil’s time, dedication, and commitment to education.

Thank you for helping our students learn, grow, and connect with the world around them!
