Principal's Message

Dear Leopard Families,

Welcome to Linden Elementary School, home of the Linden Leopards! As Principal, I am excited to be working with an amazing group of students and staff. Our goal is to teach our students to show their R.O.A.R each day.  Respect others, Own your actions, Act safely, and Rise to the challenge.  #BigBlueOnTheMove

School Hours: The doors open at 9:00am for breakfast and instruction begins promptly at 9:15am.  Kindergarten and preschool car riders dismiss at 3:40pm. Walkers are dismissed at 3:45pm.  Car riders of 1st grade through 6th grade dismiss at 3:50pm along with all bus riders.

Entry Procedures:  You MUST have a valid ID and be listed on the students Final Forms/Emergency Form to sign a student out. There are NO exceptions to this policy. When signing a student out early, we will only call them down to the office once you physically come into the office to sign them out with a valid ID.

Lunch:  All students receive lunch at no cost.  Students are permitted to pack a lunch if they elect to do so.

Change of Normal Dismissal: If you need to change the way your child goes home, you need to send a note with your child in the morning. We are committed to ensuring the safety of all our Linden students so please understand there will be NO changes over the phone.

If your student is a car rider, you must have your car rider tag displayed in your car window. If you do not have your car tag, you must park and come to the office and show ID for us to release your student.

Attendance: To report an absence please call 513-868-5630 and select option 1.  Parents must call the school in the event a student is absent or tardy.  Please call the school before 9:15 a.m. on the day of the absence.  If the attendance office is not notified by telephone or personal contact, the absences are considered unexcused.  Students must maintain at least a 93% attendance rate.  Parents may call into the attendance office to excuse up to six absences for the year.  After six parent calls, all absences must be verified with a doctor’s note to be excused from school.

Truancy and Excessive Absences are defined below:

  • Habitual truant - A child who has been absent without a legitimate excuse for 30 or more consecutive hours, 42 or more hours in a school month, or 72 or more hours in a school year.

  • Excessive Absences - A child who is absent with  or without legitimate excuses for 38 or more hours in one school month, or 65 or more hours in one school year.

Transportation: Hamilton City School District provides transportation to students who live further than 1 mile from school. For more information or to complete a babysitter form please visit hamiltoncityschools.com/transportation. You may also contact the Transportation Office at 513-887-5060.
